INTERVALS explores the colorful work of Gene Davis, Kenneth Noland and Tim Bavington, all whom depict bands of stripes that study color, rhythm and pattern. A number of the paintings refer to musical compositions, studying beats, melodies and moods conveyed by compositions by musicians that each artist took influence from. While Gene Davis and Kenneth Noland were prolific painters of the 1960’s, the contemporary artist Tim Bavington carries forward the tradition brought upon by the work of Noland and Davis.
