Scott White Contemporary Art presents Changes, a solo exhibition by Las Vegas based painter Tim Bavington. Hailing from London, and now a long time resident of Las Vegas, Bavington’s work reflects both locales with his diversity of musical inspiration and unbridled use of color. Drawing inspiration from rock music, Bavington’s paintings give notes and chords visual life through vibrant colors and meticulous line. This work departs from the tradition of color field painting, most notably Gene Davis, through intent and his application of synthetic polymer to canvas with an airbrush. The complexity of Bavington’s new body of work shows by creating compositions that are rhythmic but still taught with tension. The Los Angeles Times art critic David Pagel applauds the “emotional resonance” that Bavington’s most recent works have held.
Changes is Bavington’s first solo exhibition at Scott White Contemporary Art, and will include 13 total paintings and prints ranging in size from medium to large-scale.
